Brand Names Matter

First of all, let me preface this by stating that I am NOT one of those people who cares about brand names...especially when it comes to clothing.  Of course I will admit that sometimes, but only sometimes, a brand name label will be a good indication as to the quality and/or durability of a product.  That being said many times I'm not going to wear something often enough for that to be much of an issue.  So I find that if I like it, I don't care who made it.  I generally have a problem with wearing designer items that have the company's name emblazoned across it somewhere - like I'm a stupid billboard that actually paid to advertise someone else's product!  Hello!?  The caveat to this is when it is a band's name/logo (loving my FFDP hoodie!), but this is an endorsement for the artist not the company that made the item (though it is a lovely high quality hoodie! :)
But the brand names I am really talking about here are just general everyday items.  So far, in my experience I have narrowed it down to 3 things that must absolutely be a name brand product.  I'm not going to tell you my preferred brands (no one's paying me to advertise for them!) but I'm just saying that a no name or store brand item will just not suffice.
The first is baking powder.  Store brand baking powder just doesn't cut it.  You end up having to use too much in order to get that fluffy texture and then it becomes inedible due to the disgusting taste.  (Ever taste baking powder? bleh!)  Much better to spend the extra money and get the good stuff.  It all works out in the end anyway because you don't have to use as much and it tastes better.
The second one is cheese slices.  I'm talking about the regular ones here, not sure about those low fat monstrosities - none of those have any flavor.  If you're going to buy cheese slices you have to go for the brand name ones, they actually have some milk in them and while it's not really cheese, they do have a much better cheese-like flavor.
The third one (sorry guys, this is for the ladies only!) is tampons.  All I'm going to say is the store brand ones just do not measure up!
These are the 3 things I will absolutely not skimp on.  Just not worth it!  Let me know if you have any other suggestions, it could save me some time.
